Maybe this is blindingly obvious to everyone else…

July 16, 2008

A month ago, Mythic announced that each server will allow a maximum of 10 character slots, of which all have to be of the same faction (Order or Destruction).  I mused, “Why not 12, so you could make one of each?”

Huh.  Think that was part of the plan?

  1. Coincidence is my bet.

10/server is typical. 10 is a very easy factor to work with when they estimate max/min character population for whatever nefarious reasons they might have to. Consider also that they intended to add classes in xpacs whether or not these other four made it.

  2. Hilarious coincidence or CRYPTIC WARNING FROM THE PAST!?

  3. Conspiracy theories are fun =D

  4. Good catch 🙂

  5. I realized the exact same thing. I think they had this planned for quite some time.

  6. You suspect that a member of Chrono-Chaos is trying to send us a message?

    Don’t panic.

OMG MAYBE HE MEANS WE SHOULD BE PLAYING RF-ONLINE!!!

    Sorry, I panicked.

  7. Hahaha. Clearly they were dangling a poisonous carrot when they said that.

  8. I’d say it’s just a number they decided on originally. No conspiracy here, imo.

    Or is it?!

  9. Dude, I see conspiracies in my *pancakes*.

  10. Maybe they’re also trying to tell us something else.

ANY NEW CLASSES WILL BE CRAP YOU WON’T NEED CHARACTER SLOTS FOR THEM

    Although this is probably it:

IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL PLAY ALL YOUR CHARACTERS AT ONCE, ONE WITH EACH FINGER HAHAHAHA

  11. just a coincidence. Its fun to play Theoryhammer though.

  12. Are those pancakes or a CRYPTIC WARNING FROM THE PAST!?

  13. Is that government issued pancake mix?

  14. It does seem like it was planned, until (as someone else noted) you realise they will add classes at a later date and presumably not increase char slots.

I can’t imagine playing 10 chars though, I’d struggle to find 10 names I liked!

  15. Overthinking, IMO 😀
